JFL Consulting is currently seeking a talented and motivated OpenShift/Kubernetes/Docker Engineer to join our team. The OpenShift/Kubernetes/Docker Engineer will lead and architect container and orchestration infrastructure. You will be responsible for end-to-end design, deployment, optimization and scaling of OpenShift/Kubernetes platform and related containerized workloads.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years combined experience with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- 3+ years experience with Unix Systems and management.
- Expert level knowledge in container networking, security and Pod/cluster architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Istio, Linkerd, CNI and CSI plugins.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes Operators and Helm charts.
- Experience deploying Kubernetes on public clouds like AWS and GCP.
- Strong grasp of CI/CD principles, GitOps and infrastructure as code tools.
- Ability to analyze systems end-to-end and troubleshoot effectively.
- Leadership experience in managing engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Own architecture decisions for OpenShift/Kubernetes infrastructure and containerized applications.
- Design and optimize high-performance OpenShift/K8s clusters on public or private clouds.
- Architect secure, scalable systems for container networking, storage and service mesh.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code for deploying microservices.
- Set up monitoring, logging and alerts for containers and orchestrators.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for applications running on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
- Conduct capacity planning, cost optimization and scaling activities.
- Research and recommend new technologies like service meshes and storage.
- Lead the container and orchestrator engineering team.
- Collaborate with other teams on software architecture and SecDevOps processes.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Required: IAT Level II (ex. CompTIA Sec+) certification as defined by DoDD 8570.01, 8570.01-M, 8140.01-03.
- Preferred 3+ Years Managing a Unix/Kubernetes enterprise environment.
- Preferred Bachelors/Masters in a related field preferred OR
- 5+ years of experience with relevant certifications.
- One of the following Certifications:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
- Docker Certified Associate (DCA)
- Hashicorp Terraform Associate Certification
- One of the following Certifications:
